Dinnick has appeared at many Doctor Who conventions in recent years - both as a guest and as a popular interviewer. His most recent on-stage appearance was at the Gallifrey One

It has been announced that Dinnick has written a Doctor Who novella for publication by Penguin Books in September 2011 called The Underwater War.

Dinnck was recently announced as one of five runners-up in a nationwide scriptwriting competition run by Duracell.
