The Retrofest Music Festival created & promoted by Bradley Snelling, was the UK's first 80s themed music festival. It also featured Howard Jones, Go West, Kajagoogoo, Nick Heyward, Hazel O'Connor, Hue and Cry, The Silencers, The Beat, Kid Creole and the Coconuts, The Blockheads & Phill Jupitus, Bananarama, Imagination, Curiosity Killed The Cat, Four Good Men (Ex-Simple Minds) & Cutting Crew. it was the first the hit festival of 2007 with over 12,000 people in attendance over the weekend.

In 2008 the event moved to Strathclyde Country Park and literally doubled in size to attract over 22,000 people over the weekend. It also expanded the decades from which the music was chosen from and featured 70s artists as well as 80s. It also marked an appearance by Peter Andre. 2008 featured The Bangles, Boy George, Boney M, Nik Kershaw, 10cc, Bjorn Again, Kim Wilde, Midge Ure, Bucks Fizz, The Original Line up of Kajagoogoo (first UK gig in 25 years), The Blow Monkeys, The Christians, Modern Romance, Dean Friedman, Paul Young, Mari Wilson, China Crisis, Howard Jones and 40 "new" acts on a separate stage.

Having been the victim of the liquidation of Secure Ticket, the organisers of Retrofest 2008 struggled to get Retrofest 2009 to fruition but the event did take place albeit on a smaller scale at Loudoun Castle. This time acts included Gloria Gaynor, Level 42, Rick Astley, Bad Manners, A Flock of Seagulls, Heaven 17, Midge Ure, Bay City Rollers, Showaddywaddy, Gary Mullen's Queen, East 17, Average White Band, ABC, Go West, Aswad & Nick Heyward.

2010's festival was cancelled earlier this year by its founder Bradley Snelling after the parent company who Snelling and Malcolm Cannon were directors of went into liquidation. However, the event was copied in 2009 and "80s Rewind" was launched using verbatim some of the marketing lines originated by Retrofest such as "the biggest 80s line up since Live Aid". Whilst the event is no longer taking place the memories are still keeping the event alive. Just go to youtube to see what the fuss what all about.
