Education

The K.T.E.S. English Medium School, and Mahatma Gandhi Vidyalaya were founded in 1938.

The town has a college, Hutatma Rajguru Mahavidyalaya. This is the great place where freedom fighter "Hutatma Rajguru" belonged to, hence the name "[Hutatma Rajguru Mahavidyalaya]".

Mahatma Gandhi Vidyalaya was founded by Shri. Gajanan Deshpande. It was founded at Deshpande wada. Presently, Deshpande wada is being preserved as a monument in Shri Deshpande's memory by his son Shri. Ramesh Deshpande.
Hutatma Rajguru Mahavidyalaya was founded by Shri. Sahebrao Buttepatil. Students from this college like Mr. Sameer Takalkar, Mr. Dhirendra B. Joshi,Mr.Sanjay Bhute,Mr.Shushil Kahane, Mr.Ranjeet Surve Mr. Hemant Ghumatkar, Miss Pallavi Kolekar have been setting ideals, in IT sector. Mr. Nilesh M. Sambhus from this college is working as a Rescue Team member at National Level. Mrs. Vrushali D. Joshi has set a record for high jump and helped shin the name of the college at national level. Famous Marathi Musicians Ajay & Atul were born here and they spent their childhood in Khed. Moti Chawk Sarvajanik Ganeshotsav Mandal is a group committed to social welfare - they always play an important role in the activities that happen in and around Rajgurunagar.
Volunteers from this group like Rahul Khedkar, Vinayak Marathe,Sameer Prasade, Balu Dixit, Amol Potbhare, Dhirendra Joshi, Manoj Sawtadkar, Nilesh Sambhus are well known in the town for their commitment toward social work in the area.
Yogeshwar Group Ganesh Mandal is a well known Ganesh Mandal in rajgurunagar founded in 1983. This group involved in social work around the city. From 1983 this group giving various massages through the dramas during Ganesh Festival. Volunteers from this group like Mahendra Sandbhor, Ganesh Totre, Goraksh Totre, Shirish Kanaskar, Imran Inamdar,Mr.Prasad Prakash Wadekar.( Student form Hutatma Rajguru Mahavidyalaya, who write one memorise poem on college founder shri Sahebrao Buttepatil. published in "Dnayndeep"),Mr Vikas Dattatray Pawar,Mr.Vishwas Balasheb Kohinkar,Mr.Dinesh Hole,Mr.Sachin Sandbhor,Mr.pradip Bhumkar,Mr.Shantirup Wadekar, Mr.shreyesh Wadekar, Mr.Sagar Bhute, Mr.Ajit Botkar,Mr. Minal Fatangade. Mr. Avinash Rohidas Shete etc. are working for saving natural beauty of the town.

Also, the youth of Rajgurunagar still help maintain the dignity of Hutatma Rajguru, a freedom fighter for independence of India, by keeping Rajguru Wada as one of the places to visit. This activity has being initiated and being nurtured by Hutatma Rajguru Samiti which has been founded under able guidance of Mr. Sushil Manjare and Mr. Balasaheb Vele.

Getting there

Rajgurunagar is located at a distance of about 40 km (24.9 mi) from Pune Railway Station. You can take an ST Bus or a PMPL Bus from Shivajinagar Bus Stand or Pune Railway Station, run by Pune Corporation which would drop you at Rajgurunagar. It takes around an hour to reach the place. Three wheeler scoooter rickshaw is the best local transport available.
