Club history

Handball was first played in Koper sometime in the 1950s. At first under TVd Partizan and later on under RK Koper, for a while there were even two handball clubs in the town.

The club ceased operations many times and was brought back to life again, most recently in 1992.

In 1994/95 the club organised its structure of sections and in 1999/00 the club qualified to 1.B handball league.

After qualifications to 1.B league club received support form local company Cimos d.d. and in just two seasons, by 2001/02 RK Cimos koper qualified to 1. A league, Slovenian First League of Handball
