The Prebaetic System is a system of mountain ranges that forms the northernmost prolongation of the Baetic System in the southern Iberian Peninsula

The Sierra de María runs across the Prebaetic System and the Cordillera Penibética.

This orographical unit shares similar characteristics to its parent system, the Subbaetic Mountain Range but is located farther inland and is absent in the western section. The materials that compose it were formed in a relatively shallow sea.
The Iberian System rises north of the eastern part of the Prebaetic System.
