The height of Mr. Petzschner's season occurred clearly when he won the controversial US Open Men's Doubles Final, where he and his Austrian partner Jurgen Melzer defeated the sixth seeded Polish team of Mariusz Fystenberg and Marcin Matkowski. At 2 all in the second set, Mr. Petzschner bounced a ball over the net with aid of his left shin. When asked, he denied this.
