Marching band

The Perkins Pirate Marching Band has had the honor to attend the Ohio Music Educators Association (OMEA) State Marching Band Finals every year since its creation in 1980, 31 years ago. Only two other bands in the state of Ohio have been attending the competition since its creation. In 2009 the band qualified at the Maumee Marching Band Competition in Maumee, Ohio by receiving a superior (I), and went to state for the 30th year in November, where they received an a excellent rating (II).

The Perkins Pirate Band Program officially took the lead in 2006 for having the largest student to band member ratio in the state of Ohio, 188 students in band, with over one-third of the high school population involved in the band program.
