 (June 15, 1898-August 31, 2005) and Marguerite Pingaud (October 10, 1903-December, 2005) were married on August 12, 1924 and celebrated their 81st wedding anniversary in August 2005.

Shortly after Percy's death, Guinness recognized Herbert and Magda Brown as holding the aggregate-age married couple record, and E.R. and Bessie Pennebaker (married June 14, 1924) as holding the longest-marriage record until he died. In July 2005, Guinness recognized the 82-year marriage of John and Amelia Rocchio as the longest marriage of a living couple until she died.
