. Littleton’s first job started at the age of 12 years old she had her own business as a paper route carrier for the Daily Times Call . Her brother, Roy, joined her as the route grew in size. Their efficiency on their route, earned them a color television in 1977. In her junior year of High School she was involved in student government, where she served as her junior class VP. Littleton was also chosen to represent the Longmont Rotary Club. After her graduation from High School; Littleton spent a year abroad as a [Rotary Youth Exchange] student in Austria.

Education

Upon return from Austria, Littleton enrolled at Colorado State University. After completing her junior year of college, at CSU, as a newlywed, Littleton moved to TX and completed her Bachelor of Science degree with Regents University, which is now Excelsior College http://www.excelsior.edu in Albany, New York

As an educational consultant, Littleton has conducted professional staff development seminars for teachers nationwide and is currently an independent consultant with Gibson Hasbrouck & Associates http://www.gha-pd.com/index.html. Her focus is training teachers to use both data- driven and differentiated instruction in the classroom.

Littleton continues to serve on many boards and commissions, including Read to Achieve, The Dyslexia Center and PACE (Parental Alliance for Choice in Education). She was granted the Charter Friend Award for Policy. Littleton has contributed to many reports published by NASBE, http://nasbe.org/ some of which are “E Pluribus Unum (ELL)”, “Adolescent Literacy”, and “From Planning to Practice (ECE).”
In addition to serving on the State Board of Education, Littleton is a commercial real estate consultant in Colorado Springs.

Political Involvement

The Littleton's have lived in Colorado Springs since the summer of 1993. Littleton has served on the State Board of Education since Feb. 2004. In 2004, Littleton received attention by proclaiming herself a "Blonde Babe for Bush," along with two female friends.
Along with being elected to the State Board of Education, Littleton has been involved in local politics for 13 years. She is now seeking election as El Paso County Commissioner in District 5 ,.

Personal

Littleton met her future husband, Don Littleton, her junior year in college. They were married in May 1981 and have enjoyed 28 years of marriage. Together they have three grown children, Tiffany, United States Air Force
