In the 2006 summer Oliveira, alongside a handful of other Portuguese players, left for Romania

. In his first season, he was an important first-team member as it finished third in Liga I
and qualified for the UEFA Cup, but was deemed surplus to requirements in the following campaign, being loaned to fellow first divisioner FCM UTA Arad.
Oliveira moved countries again in 2008–09, joining Modena F.C.
