On January 28, 1947, Robert and Dorothy Vick, along with their two sons, Teddy and Paul, began the final leg of their journey from the United States to West China Union University. The Vicks were American Baptist missionaries invited to the University to teach English and set up a printing press to print Bibles for the growing church in China. airplane from Hangkow to Chungking, mechanical problems caused engine failure resulting in a crash. Eighteen month old Paul Vick became the youngest sole survivor of an airplane crash in history.
