History

Painface was formed in 1998 by Anders Colsefni. The band recorded an album called FleshCraft

, in 2000. In 2002 the band split up.

After the split, Colsefni dropped his stage name in favor of his real name, Andrew Rouw, when he formed his new band, Vice Grip Throttle, who were active from 2005 until 2009 and released a self-titled demo in 2006. Two of the other ex-members of Painface, Jerry Spargur and Jeremy Easley, also formed a new band in 2001, On A Pale Horse, named after the 2000 demo. The band released three studio albums, Black is Not the Darkest Colour (2003), On a Pale Horse (2005), and A Generation of Vipers (2007).
