The images are as small as 139 MB and offer an alternative means to quickly deploy OpenSolaris on a platform of your choice. You can tailor your deployment by adding packages from network-based package repositories and performing any other application-specific configuration changes.

Features

Pre-installed JeOS installations are provided by the OpenSolaris JeOS project for a variety of system virtualization platforms. Using these heavily reduced, text-based, headless server-oriented forms of the Sun-managed OpenSolaris distribution, developers and administrators can more easily produce application-tailored installations of OpenSolaris in virtual appliance, cloud and bare metal environments.
