Olara A. Otunnu is a Ugandan advocate for children's rights, and former Ambassador of Uganda to the UN, UN Under-Secretary General and Special Representative for Children and Armed Conflict (1997 – 2005), and President of the International Peace Academy (1990 – 1998).
Otunnu has received several major awards, including the German Africa Prize (2002) and the Sydney Peace Prize (2005).
