Nutter has a long tradition of active participation in pro bono representation and community service. The firm's founder, United States Supreme Court Justice Louis D. Brandeis, is often credited with creating the pro bono tradition in America at the turn of the century. Nutter is a founding member and challenge participant in the Pro Bono Institute’s Law Firm Pro Bono Project.
