. The school began an extensive renovation project in 2004 with improvements being made at both campuses. The high school is undergoing a massive physical update, the first since its original construction, with improvements to existing classrooms, administrative offices, a new chapel, gymnasium, and fine and performing arts center.

Notre Dame de Sion was recognized in 2007 for academic excellence by the Catholic High School Honor Roll as one of the 25 best Roman Catholic high schools in the United States.

Robert Cosgrove Greenlease Sr., a wealthy business owner, paid the ransom. Carl Austin Hall and Bonnie Emily Heady were arrested for the crime, and were later executed in a gas chamber.
