North Layton teaches grades 7 through 9. Class subjects include the following: Art, Social Studies, English, Reading Comprehension, Spanish, French, Health and Teen Living, General and Computer Technology, Biological and Physical Sciences, Special Education, Math, TLC and FACS, Band, Choir, Orchestra, and Physical Education. Renovations and Additions

In 1995 Portable classrooms were added to the west and front of the school to accommodate growing class sizes.

A new wing was added in the year 2000 adjacent to the Gymnasium.

Uniform policies were adopted in 1998 and continue to be implemented today.
