Though Jeanne Nicole Griffin was born in Vicksburg, Mississippi

, formative years of her childhood were spent living in Germany. She came back to the United States at 8 years old and went on to attend high school at New Hanover High School in Wilmington, North Carolina.

In high school, Nikki developed her love for films. She took film class at her high school, where she was taught by Marc Matney

Although her friend left after a short period of time, Nikki stayed in LA because she knew that she wanted to become an actress. Nikki landed her first role, although small, as an actress on television's Dawson's Creek
