Neil spraypainted a slogan prior to his death: "WE HAVE MAINTAINED A SILENCE CLOSELY RESEMBLING STUPIDITY" followed by the anarchy is order sign (A circled by an O) and the words "anarchy - peace thinking".

Roberts had been active in various protest movements including the 1981 anti springbok tour protests.
