Geography

The river begins in the Taygetos mountains and flows from several springs. It begins at around 1,000 to 1,100 m. and Mount Xerovouna. The GR-82

 (Pylos - Kalamata - Sparta) runs along the river. The river enters a series of gorges and steep areas and are forested. It forms a tributary with Nedoussa (also named after Neda) and enters outside the mountain and into the city of Kalamata
