Mukhya Mantri was a drama in which he played the lead which resulted in getting the prefix to his original name. Mukhya Mantri was a piece of work which was presented by the popular Kannada troupe, Kalagangotri. The drama which brought Chandru the recognition he deserved is staged even to this day as Chandru played an active Mukhya Mantri's (Chief minister's) role in the play.
