She took oath at State House (0fficial Residence of the President), Réduit on Saturday morning. On the same day, she was called on to be the Acting President soon after the President, Sir Anerood Jugnauth, left for India in the evening.
In 2009, she was decorated by President Jugnauth as Grand Officer of the Star and Key of the Indian Ocean
