Modlany is situated between the two cities of Teplice and Ústí nad Labem

. It has an average elevation of 188m and an area of 10.1km². Many other villages in the area such as Drahkov, Kvítkov, Suché and Věšťany are now a part of Modlany.

History

The village was first mentioned on paper in 1328. Before it belonged to the perimeter of the castle Kyšperk. The church was established in 1352 and the first school was built in 1899.
