Moon
The Moon is Earth's only known natural satellite,There are a number of near-Earth asteroids including 3753 Cruithne that are co-orbital with Earth: their orbits bring them close to Earth for periods of time but then alter in the long term . These are quasi-satellites and not true moons. For more...

Impact crater
In the broadest sense, the term impact crater can be applied to any depression, natural or manmade, resulting from the high velocity impact of a projectile with a larger body...

Sphere
A sphere is a perfectly round geometrical object in three-dimensional space, such as the shape of a round ball. Like a circle in two dimensions, a perfect sphere is completely symmetrical around its center, with all points on the surface lying the same distance r from the center point...

's far side. It is located to the north of the crater H. G. Wells
H. G. Wells (crater)
H. G. Wells is a lunar crater that is located on the far side of the Moon, behind the northeastern limb. It lies to the south of the crater Millikan, and to the northeast of Cantor. Just to the southeast is the smaller Tesla....

Von Békésy (crater)
Von Békésy is a worn lunar crater on the far side of the Moon. It is located in the northern latitudes, behind the northeastern limb of the Moon as seen from the Earth. This is a relatively isolated crater formation, the closest named crater being Volterra, just over one crater diameter to the...

.

The rim edge of Millikan is roughly circular and well-defined, but with some irregularities. There are some small outward bulges along the south and east where the edge has slumped inwards somewhat. The inner walls lacks a terrace structure that is seen, for example, in the smaller Cantor
Cantor (crater)
Cantor is a lunar impact crater that is located on the northern hemisphere on the far side of the Moon. The outer rim of the crater has a distinctly hexagonal shape, and is slightly longer in the north–south direction. The interior walls are multiply terraced, although less so along the western rim...

to the south. The interior floor of Millikan is relatively level, and there is a small, bowl-shaped crater to the north of the mid-point. Offset to the west of the middle is a low central peak. The floor is also marked by a number of tiny craterlets.

Satellite craters

By convention these features are identified on lunar maps by placing the letter on the side of the crater mid-point that is closest to Millikan.
