, due to 11 of its 33 "disadvantaged" seniors dropping out of the class of 2008. The rating was given despite the fact that all 6 elementary schools were awarded the highest rating (exemplary), along with 1 Middle school being given the second highest rating (recognized) and the other middle school receiving an academically acceptable rating.

School board officials and many residents oppose the unacceptable rating received from the TEA, and the TEA rating has been appealed . The school district was measured as being exemplary in 22 of 25 academic measurements.
