Personal life

Taylor's intriguing accent reflects some mobility in youth - the family moved to Glasgow, Scotland when he was one, and to Leeds in Yorkshire when he was fourteen.

His interests include golf, squash and football; in an interview, he ruefully admitted the worst thing about his work is the shifts.
