, Advance Bank (which subsequently failed) and then joined the Commerzbank as a Member of the Board in 2001. In 2008 he became CEO and a year later made the decicion to take over Dresdner Bank. The takeover ultimately lead to combined bank being bailed out twice by the German Government. Though intial attempts were made to blame the bailout on Dresdner there were major losses within the orginal Commerzbank group, particularly at it's EuroHypo subsidary.
