. Typically due to its isolation, Marathon generally has the lowest high school enrollment in the state. Since all students grades K-12 attend class in the same building, the school is often referred to as Marathon School.

State titles

Football State Champions in the 6-man division in 1974 & 1976. Both teams were undefeated. Marathon was also undefeated in 1969 and 1970.
