's presidential plane landed on the runway for the Border Governors' meeting. The airport will be able to handle airplanes of Boeing 767 size and larger. The runway is 2500 meters long and 60 meters wide. The main terminals of the airport are now open. Once finished, this airport will be one of the most important in Mexico. The airport is located 15 minutes from the city of Puerto Peñasco
