Matloubi was quite active in tournament poker in the 1990s. His win at the 1990
1990 World Series of Poker

The 1990 World Series of Poker was held at Binion's Horseshoe....
 Main Event made him the first non-American to win that particular tournament. Matloubi also made the final table of the 1993 Main Event, finishing in fourth place. He was eliminated by the event winner, Jim Bechtel.

Currently, Matloubi does not play many tournaments in the United States, as he prefers to play in Europe.
