Name change

In 2008, 4751 people, from many ethnic groups and all walks of life, participated in a public opinion survey in favour of restoring the historical name (Mang City), with 96.96% supporting a name change to Mang City. In 2010, the name of the county-level city was formally changed, becoming the very first single-character (excluding the word for city, "市") city in mainland China.
