The Village of Manak Was Established by Guru Nanak Dev ji (1469-1539) the First Sikh prophet on the Mound. The Jatts of this village belong to the same grandfather Many of them were converted to Sikhism and to Islam While the rest Jatts Remained Hindu.

Founding of the Village

When Jagat Guru came to village Pajian from Manga, the villagers initially welcomed him but later made fun of him. Jagat Guru Nanak Dev ji left the village and stayed at this place outside the village. Some follower asked Guru Dev Ji as to why he had moved out of the village. Guru Ji said those were "Paji" (mean) and hence the village came to be called Pajian and -the mound came to he known as Manak Where Guru Nanak Dev Ji Stayed along with Bhai Mardana his Beloved Devote. It subsequently developed into a big village.

A Gurdwara Known as Pehli Patshahi (First King) an old Historic Building Stands on the Mound next to it is a Water Tank and Nearby are Samadhs of Udasi Sadhus (Ascetic) Followers of Baba Sri Chand eldest Son of Guru Nanak Dev Ji. It had a langar Hall and Prakash Asthan Were the Guru Granth Sahib ji Was Placed and a Diwan Hall.

But During the 1947 partition of Hindustan Including the Punjab region the Sikh Population Left for East Punjab. Muslim Refuges in the same year from Mewat Region of Haryana, Rajasthan Migrated to Islamic Pakistan which was then a New Country Created and Mewati Familys Settled in the Historic Gurdwara. Gurdwara Has Started to Decay and the Architecture has Been Destroyed by Mewati Muslim Family and much has Collapsed. the Water tank has become a stagnant Pool. The Gurdwara may soon Become a Heap of Dust if The Sikh Heritage is not Saved.
