nasium, as well as an adjoining practice gymnasium, tennis courts, and soccer fields. The school shares practice fields and the athletic stadium with nearby Mallard Creek Community Park, and local community athletic groups.
The school's varsity football team was forfeited to a 1-10 season in 2008, due to an ineligible player who violated the NCHSAA's 8-semester eligibility rule. Before the conflict about the ineligible player, the team's record for the season was 10-0, but on October 31, the appeal was rescinded, and the team forfeited their 10 wins. They have since gone on to a 13-1 season in 2010, and now in 2011, they are 14th in the Nation's top 100 high school football teams with a record of 7-0. They are on their way to their first State Title.
