From 1973 to 1979 Madis Eek studied in the Secondary School of Music and from 1979 to 1984 in the 43rd Secondary School (today's Technical Gymnasium of Tallinn). From 1984 Madis Eek studied in the State Art Institute of the Estonian SSR (today's Estonian Academy of Arts
