. In 1967 he was given a life peerage as Baron MacLeod of Fuinary, of Fuinary in Morven in the County of Argyll. This title became extinct on his death in 1991 while he was succeeded in the baronetcy by his son, the fifth and (as of 2011) present holder of the title.

The MacLeod Baronetcy, of The Fairfields, Cobham, in the County of Surrey, was created in the Baronetage of the United Kingdom on 22 January 1925 for Charles MacLeod, Chairman of the National Bank of India and of the Imperial Tea Company.
