The whole town of Lower Kingswood used to be called Cheesley Town, and to this day, you can find it in very old maps.

Buses travel along the A217, north to Epsom and Sutton and south to Reigate and Redhill.
It is situated very close to Junction 8 of the M25.

Socialising

There are several social clubs in Lower Kingswood, catering for all ages, youth clubs such as drama and football. For the older generations there is a bowls

 club and Women's Institute. The football club is named Kingswood Terriers FC and they have a prestigious history in the local Epsom and Ewell Youth League, they won the League Cup 2011 and won 4-3 in the final.

There is a recreation ground opposite Rookery Way, which includes a play park, bike ramps and football pitches.
Other youth clubs are Guides, Cubs, Beavers and Scouts.

The Kingswood Village Club (Lower Kingswood) was recently voted CAMRA (Campaign for Real Ale) CAMRA Mid and East Surrey Club of the year 2011
