He is said to have founded a church here in 460, upon the site of which the present one is built, and to have been buried here along with his daughters. In 1868 the carved stone that covered his tomb (that had been exhumed in the 17th century and featured a robed man wearing a coronet alongside the words HIC JACET PABO) was still being pointed out in the church.
