Living Oceans Society is actively involved in the PNCIMA planning process, a government-established process wherein local stakeholders work to better manage the area's resources and ensure a healthy ocean and healthy communities on British Columbia's North and Central Coast. To support this work, Living Oceans Society has researched and analyzed socioeconomics of coastal communities, current management practices for MPAs, and fishing bycatch
