of the church from its founding.

to Robert and Margaret Gouge. In 1952 she met and married her husband Kirby. In 1954, the Hensleys moved from North Carolina to California
, finally settling in Modesto, California
in 1958. Kirby Hensley founded the first Universal Life Church the next year.
She is the mother of the current President of the Universal Life Church, Andre Hensley
