. His first band was Haircut One Hundred, who went on to enjoy success in the early 1980s and spawned a number one album and four top five singles in the UK. The records also charted in the US, where the band were starting to enjoy the beginnings of major success but broke up before this was achieved. From this the band carried on with Marc Fox on lead vocals, and recorded a critically received album which was not supported by sales.

Nemes moved to Spain in 2003, and is now writing and recording for a new band, Real, with former Spanish pop artist Harley, (Henry Quintero) and drummer Matt Green.
