, but instead the producers created the character of Lauren just for her, and she didn't even have to audition for it. Bregman thought the role would be brief, but after six months the producers offered her a contract and she accepted.

) fell for Lauren's husband and plotted to steal him away from Lauren. Sheila drugged Scott and made love to him, ending up pregnant at the same that Lauren learned she was also pregnant. After a few months, Scott learned that Sheila was carrying his child so he left Lauren. Sheila lost her child, bought a baby on the black market and switched it with Lauren's. Lauren was crushed when the baby she thought was hers had died. Sheila's mother Molly (Marilyn Alex) found out about the baby switch but suffered a stroke after which Sheila had her institutionalized. Lauren eventually learned the truth from Molly.

Sheila attempted to murder Lauren but accidentally set fire to the cabin they were in. Lauren and Molly made it out at time, but Sheila apparently didn't and she was presumed dead. Scott and Lauren happily reunited and started living a normal life with their child. Lauren found out that Sheila was in Los Angeles getting married to Eric Forrester

). Lauren felt sorry for Kevin and she bailed him out of jail, which led to Kevin revealing everything about himself to Lauren. Michael and Lauren got close while discussing Kevin and their problems and Michael eventually proposed.

Lauren accepted Michael's proposal and they started their marriage preparations, while Kevin and Michael worked on getting Lauren's son Scott (Blair Redford

Michael wanted to make sure that Lauren was safe and he took her to the asylum to see Sheila imprisoned, without realizing that it was some other woman that had plastic surgery to look like Sheila. Sheila came to Genoa City and started tormenting Lauren in a disguise. She tried to get Lauren to jump off the roof after drugging her, but was stopped by Michael. Kevin's father Tom Fisher

Michael and Lauren got married and left for their honeymoon on a beautiful yacht. Lauren discovered, upon reading Scotty's book, that the synopsis was completely the same as what happened to her with Sheila, as Sheila revealed herself to Lauren. Lauren got pregnant, but was worried about the child's safety when she was said to have a risky pregnancy. She learned about Michael being involved in his mother's constant plots, but went into labor when confronting him about it. She prematurely delivered a baby boy which the couple later named Fenmore Baldwin. At the same time, Paul found Sheila in town after having plastic surgery to make her look like Phyllis Newman

In March 2010, Paul and Lauren shared a kiss at Jimmy's Bar while Lauren was being drugged. Later on, Michael discovered this, but believed her when she told him she wasn't aware of what she'd been doing.

's sister, Sarah Smythe, along with Sheila's long-lost twin children, Ryder Callahan and Daisy Sanders. Sarah held Lauren captive, and locked her in a cell with Jana, (whom Sarah had already kidnapped). Sarah then attempted take Lauren's place, as payback for killing Sheila. Micheal knew something was wrong with "Lauren", and Sarah got fed up and plotted to kill Micheal. Fenmore, Lauren and Micheal's son, also knew something was wrong with his mother, when Sarah killed a spider, something Lauren would never dare to do. Meanwhile Ryder felt guilty about kidnapping Lauren, and set her and Jana free. They were being held at an old amusement park, and Sarah caught them on the carousel, armed with a gun. Lauren managed to escape and then killed Sarah in the house of mirrors. Lauren had panic attacks regualarly and she broke many mirrors, because her reflexion reminded her of Sarah.

) is Lauren's paternal half-sister, much to Lauren's chagrin. Lauren becomes even more upset when Jill changes her last name to Fenmore.
Despite Jill's attempts to get to know Lauren & bond with her as her sister, Lauren is very much angry & not willing to be accepting of Jill as her sister, which could result in a feud, which Jill doesn't want.

Lauren's growing feud with Jill gets even worse when Jill files a lawsuit asking for a portion of the estate of her & Lauren's late father Neil Fenmore. Lauren is completely appalled by the action & makes her disgust at what Jill has done very clear to Michael despite his efforts to get both women to at least talk like civilized people. In October 2010 Daisy Carter returns pregnant with Daniel's child, which has everyone, including Jill & Lauren, shocked. On November 5, 2010 Daisy asked to go to a hospital for the paternity test which Phyllis agreed to because she wanted to know if that baby is her grandchild, but Lauren decided against it.
