Services at Lakenheath comprise one train in each direction on Saturdays and three trains in each direction on Sundays. There are no services on Mondays to Fridays. All services stop only on request and are provided by National Express East Anglia railways, using Class 170 DMUs. On Saturdays, there is the 10:25 to and the 15:40 to . Lakenheath Station has seen somewhat of a boom in passenger numbers for the period 2007-2008. A fivefold increase in passengers using the station can be attributed to the number of services calling at the station on a Sunday to service the local RSPB nature reserve at Lakenheath Fen.

RSPB Lakenheath Fen is immediately adjacent to the station.
