In the CDP the population was spread out with 15.4% under the age of 18, 5.6% from 18 to 24, 20.1% from 25 to 44, 25.5% from 45 to 64, and 33.5% who were 65 years of age or older. Preserves
The Lake Panasoffkee park and preserve protects 9911 acres (40.1 km²) and offers birdwatching, biking, camping, horseback riding, fishing, hiking and hunting. It is accessed from the south side of State Route 44 two miles (3 km) west of Interstate 75. Similar recreational opportunities (except no biking) are also offered at the 1118 acres (4.5 km²) Panasoffkee Outlet park and preserve.
