 and fare control. There is no crossover or crossunder between the two platforms. Exits from the mezzanine are on Greene Avenue, South Portland Avenue, South Oxford Street, and Hanson Place. (Despite the station's name, there are no entrances on Lafayette Avenue; the nearest entrance is a full block away.) The tilework at this station is composed of dull green tiles reading "Lafayette Ave."

South of this station there is a storage/lay up track between the two express tracks. Both ends of the track connects to the express tracks. At both ends, the storage/lay up track also ends at bumper blocks, after the switches to the express tracks.
