About the site

LVR's authentic (circa 1923) locomotive depot and steam roundhouse play home for the museum, hosting the four steam locos and as a workshop for maintenance on the operating fleet and restoration work. The museums is currently working on the restoration job for and DEB railcar

5917 is not owned by the LVR itself but by a group attached to the LVR. 5917 is not in operational order due to some boiler problems.
  • There was a fifth loco which was C3013 but it is now owned by the ARHS ACT in 2009 and was delivered to the site in parts.

 were seen as a triple header for the annual Hunter Valley Steamfest. 3237 and 5917 did a double header to Braxton and back.
  • 3237 Children's Christmas Party To Rosehill Racecourse:

A private train charter with the Lachlan Valley Railway's 3237 from Sydney to Rosehill Racecourse for a Christmas Party on 2 December. This was the first time that 3237 had steamed since August.
  • 3237 Cockatoo Run:

3237 from the Lachlan Valley Railway hauled two steam hauled trains from Sydney to Moss Vale on 18 April and 26 April 2010, during the ANZAC Public Holiday.
  • 3237 Bankstown Shuttles:

3237 hauled shuttle trips from Sydney to Bankstown on 2 May 2010.
  • 3237 NSW North Coast Run:

3237 has been movef up to the North Coast with the rests of the LVR mainline rolling stock to do some tours. Some of the tours include trips to Grafton, Casino, Coffs Harbour, Wauchope and Taree between the 22 May and 7 July.
  • 3237 'Lines to the West' Tour: In partnership with the Westhaven Association and the Lachlan Valley Railway (LVR), 3237 will be running regional shuttle trips in the Dubbo area. From Thursday, 12 August - Monday, 16 August. Friday's trips will be running from Dubbo to Narromine; Saturday the loco will run the same trip like Friday; Sunday's trips will be to Binnaway or Dunedoo and Monday will see the return journey to Sydney hauled by diesel.

  • 3237 'Father's Day Bankstown Steam Shuttles: The 3801 Limited will once again host shuttle trips around the Bankstown line on Father's Day (Sunday, 5 September) running three trips in the morning, midday and afternoon.

  • 3237 'Cockatoo Run': 3237 once again hauled the 'Cockatoo Run' from Sydney - Moss Vale on Sunday, 3 October.
