Asamoah was scouted playing for a local based club Depotivo F.C. which belongs to Kamara and was recommended by the scout Mr. Charles Mensah Gapson to Alhaji Sly Tetteh, CEO of Liberty Professionals.

Asamoah’s angled shot on 9 minutes at the end of a quick counter attack for his first goal, a reward for a season during which he has increasingly become important to Udinese with his strong tackling, close ball control and ability to pick the right pass. Udinese went on to beat Fiorentina 3–1 at Stadio Friuli, the home of Udinese. Udinese have the option to make his signing permanent at the end of the season for 800,000 euros. He has quickly adapted to Italian football and has maintained a position in the starting lineup under coach Marino.

International career

He gained his first national call-up after debuting for Liberty Professionals in the 2006/2007 Onetouch Premiership when Sir. Cecil Jones Attuquayefio called into the National Olympic Football Team.
