 about a Kilometre south from Shahjalal International Airport.The school provides education to its students in Bengali medium under the national curriculum.Students can get admitted into the institution in one to nine grade. The school has nearly 4500 students and employs 84 teaching staff and 16 other staff.

History

Kurmitola High School is one of the oldest high school in Bangladesh that was started its journey in 1948 when our mother land was totally corrupted by Pakistani autocrat rulers whose were always trying to deprive us from our ideal educational rights that’s why we could not make a grievous revolution against them. At first this school was weakly constructed in Khilkhet Tanpara Puran Bazar but after 1960 it was changed its location that has been permanently constructed in the center of Khilkhet Bazar.In 1971 the construction of this school was totally destroyed by Pakistani army but after our independence local people of this society have been always trying to refurbish this school. Now Kurmitola High School is established as a one of the inexpressible beautiful and largest high school in central Dhaka and approximately 4500 students are entertaining in their reading in this school.

Admission

Taking admission into K.H.S is highly competitive.Interested applicants have to pass both the written test and the viva-voce (oral examination) in order to qualify. Admission tests for one and ninth grade are generally held in December and academic sessions begin in January.

Curriculum

Kurmitola High School follows the national curriculum. This curriculum includes traditional lower secondary and secondary school academic subjects. In addition computer education is compulsory for all the students of grades 6-8 while it's optional for later grades. Students of secondary (9 & 10) classes have to elect to one of three major groups : Arts/Humanities, Business Studies and Science. Students of grade 10 are prepared for their SSC

Campus

K.H.S has a quite large campus. K.H.S campus consists of two inter connected buildings, a huge sports ground. The first building & the second building are 4 stories and 5 stories high respectively. First 5 floors excluding the ground floor of both inter-connected buildings are used for academic purposes. The School Canteen, administrative offices are in the ground floor. The huge ground is used for playing cricket, football, badminton, handball etc.

All students have to wear School uniform as designed and directed by the School authority.

Girls: Blue Frock, White Payjama & White Orna And White Shoe.
