Korea Sports Council is a special non-profit organization administered by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Republic of Korea. It promotes and handles all the sport-related issues within the country. It was established in 1920 during the Japanese occupation in hope to replace the Korea Sports Association, that was created by the Japanese at that time. After the independence, the council established the KOC, Korean Olympic Committee
