He is a graduate of the St. Petersburg Repin Institute of Fine Art in 1983. He worked as an artist-animator at the animated film studio Lennauchfilm (Studio of Popular Science Films), which created educational animations. It was there that he completed his first film, Merry-Go-Round or The Round-About , in 1988.

In 1992, he graduated from the V. Mukhina Leningrad Higher Art and Industrial Academy and in 1994 from the "Higher Courses in Scriptwriting and Directing in Moscow

From 1993-1995 he worked as a scriptwriter, director and animator at the Moscow Animation Studio "Pilot", where he created several short films. From 1996-1999 he worked at the studio Pozitiv TV. In 2004 he served as the director of the animated feature film Alosha. According to Bronzit, the very short timeframe (only a year was given to them to complete the film) forced him to write the script at the same time as the film was being animated. The film was a success in Russia, and spawned another two films by different directors in the same vein.

His 2007 short film Lavatory Lovestory won the Best Scenario Award at the 12th Open Russian Festival of Animated Film
