Chemical Spill

for his class. When attempting to take the jar of the chemicals down it fell and shattered, causing some of the chemicals to get on the teacher's face, eyes, and possibly even inhaled into his lungs. After which he was immediately taken to a nearby hospital and treated. The students that were in the same hallway were evacuated and taken outside, and offered a chance to be treated if they felt they were exposed (which none accepted, showing how minor the spill actually was). Despite the media attention from the entire nation, the spill was minor and the teacher returned back in perfect health the next day to teach his class.

Curriculum
The Academy of Mathematics, Science, & Technology at Kennesaw Mountain is one of five magnet schools in Cobb County. They currently provide the following classes:
- Math: Magnet Geometry, Magnet Algebra II, Magnet Analysis
- Science: Earth Science, Magnet Biology, Magnet Chemistry, Magnet Physics, Magnet Research and Internship
- Technology: Introduction to Technology (paired with Honors 9th Literature)
For magnet courses, students are given an extra 0.5 on their GPA, if the student receives an A in the particular class. This half point is honored on report cards and county rankings; however, this is not taken into account upon the calculation of GPA for HOPE or college applications.

The Kennesaw Mountain High School Robotics Team was established in 2003 and has been winning a multitude of awards since. Information on these awards can be found on the team's website at http://kmhsrobotics.ath.cx The team is most well known for their winning of the BEST award at the Georgia BEST competition held at Southern Polytechnic State University and advancing to the regional competition, South's BEST every year of its involvement in the BEST competition.
"Mane Link"
"Mane Link" is the title of the student government group at Kennesaw Mountain. It is the largest club at KMHS and has a leadership team for each class along with an Executive Board, which encompasses the President and the President's Advisors. The sponsor of this club is Mr. Billy Richardson, an administrator at KMHS. Mane Link organizes every main event at KMHS, these include Shop with a Mustang( a program in which underprivileged middle and elementary school students are given $100 dollars to spend holiday shopping), Homecoming and the Valentine Dance (the yearly special-ed dance for Cobb County). The current president of "Mane Link" is Dianna Nord.
The "Mustang Men"
The class of 2004 began the tradition of remarkable spirit at Kennesaw Mountain; namely, they are credited with starting the act of bare-chested letter painting. The "Mustang Men" were composed of four sophomores: Tyler Jacobs, Martin Aspin, Chris Ghattas, and Adam Morehart. During the opening football game in Fall 2001, they unveiled themselves as the first and founding group of Kennesaw Mountain High School's lasting tradition of half-naked and high-spirited students. Boasting "KMHS" in black and green paint upon their chests, they became an immediate enjoyment for parents, fellow students, and athletes. "Other schools did it, but not like them," noted Brandy Mathis, another member of the 2004 class, "they were absolutely nuts!" A football or basketball game was very seldom missed by the four students, and their energizing antics were never lacking. It was during halftime of their final football game that the Mustang Men walked out onto the field and ceremoniously painted four spirited sophomores with their letters, effectively passing on their title in hopes that Kennesaw Mountain's students would maintain or elevate the amount of school pride and spirit that their 2004 class had helped create. That second generation of Mustang Men - T.J. Hartnett, Thomas Clarke, Brett Fultz and Joel Kazinec - passed on their mantle of spirit leaders to the "Kilt Squad" at halftime of their own final game, effectively ending the Mustang Men and beginning a new KMHS legacy.
The "Kilt Squad" and the "K-Side Krazies"
The Spirit Leaders of Kennesaw Mountain created two major student groups for supporting the athletic teams:
The "Kilt Squad" consists of four seniors at KMHS who paint their faces and chests and also wear kilts to the football games. The founding fathers of the K-Side Kilt Squad (est. 2005) are Ben Ramsey (K), Ross Durrence (M), Stephen Halford (H), Samer Massad (S).
